Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about volunteering and donating.

Do I need special qualifications to volunteer?

Most programs require no specific qualifications beyond enthusiasm and willingness to help. Medical program participants should be medical/nursing students or qualified professionals. We provide all necessary training and orientation.

How far in advance should I apply?

We recommend applying at least 4-6 weeks before your planned start date to allow time for visa processing and placement arrangements. However, we can sometimes accommodate last-minute volunteers.

Can I volunteer for less than 2 weeks?

Our minimum volunteer period is 2 weeks to ensure meaningful contribution and experience. For shorter visits, consider our Safari + Volunteer Combo (1 week each) or making a donation and visiting during your safari.

Is Tanzania safe for solo female volunteers?

Yes, Tanzania is generally safe for solo female travelers. We provide safe homestay accommodation, 24/7 support, and thorough orientation. Many of our volunteers are solo females who have had wonderful experiences.

What is the accommodation like?

Volunteers stay in carefully selected homestays with local families or in volunteer houses. All accommodations are safe, clean, and provide breakfast and dinner. This is the best way to experience authentic Tanzanian life.

Can I combine multiple volunteer projects?

Yes! Many volunteers combine projects. For example, teach at an orphanage in the morning and help with construction in the afternoon. Discuss your interests with our coordinator.

How do I know my donation is used properly?

We provide 100% transparency. Within 2-4 weeks of your donation, you receive photo updates and a detailed report showing exactly how your funds were used. You can also visit the projects during your safari.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. Luxus in Africa Foundation is a registered NGO in Tanzania (Reg. No. 00NGO/12345). We provide official tax receipts. For international donors, we can provide documentation for your local tax authority.

Ready to Make a Difference?

Whether you want to volunteer on the ground or support from afar, every contribution helps build a brighter future for Tanzanian communities.
